Re: [BNW] Sneak Weak?
Compared to some of the offensive packages, sure the sneak is weak, but if
someone wants to play one, good for them.
There's one in the party I'm running, and this past Monday he proved the
biggest hero of all.
Just as the heroes had immobilized the villain and Delta Prime was coming up
on the scene, they began to make their escape. The sneak shocked me by
staying behind, and drew their fire and ducked into an alley.
Sure a couple shots hit him the arm, and with only a 4 body and 2 STR he was
hurting. The rules state that no once can be looking in order for the sneak
to vanish, this isn't much of a concern most of the time, but these folks
had a bead on him. Instead of being an inflexible GM, I said that he was
able to vanish. It was far more cinematic/ comic book that way, and I
thought it would be a bit unfair to not reward heroism.
He may not be able to shoot fire or energy bolts and can't shoot a penny out
of the air at 100 yards, but played right any of the characters are fun.
It is after all a game, and not just a combat simulation.
Don't be limited by what you perceive as the limitations of the package, the
healer in the group goes by Kid Caliber and fancies himself quite the
gunner. All of his tricks are combat related, and although he's no gunner,
he's no slouch, and the fact that he can heal folks is just a bonus.
