Re: [BNW] Covenant Powers: Unbalancing ?

I would have to agree with this. The Covenant is tempered by it pacificism I
think, much in the way the Phoenix are in L5R. The are capable of great power,
but when you live by New Testament... then you preach a word of peace and live
by example. Also... if you get too far out of line... the church will reign you
in. Their are always way to temper in various archetypes... as a GM, one must
wield that as a weapon though. Coming from a group of power gamers from hell(yes
one member does own more than his body weight in AD&D alone)... I understand
about many things. But it's really about getting your players to play these
characters the way they are meant to be. It's possible for one not to follow the
personality types suggested... but one has to stay within the spirit of some of
these. I think this is one of the more balanced games out there right now. I
don't think you need a 'SINNIN' chart to help either. The covenant to me... is
based on the idealic version of Christianity or whatever religion it's a member
of, not the militant, two faced stuff that has been present from the beginning.
Which actually brings me to say that I feel like this game is playing ideals in
a world that is no where near it. It's tough to do... but fun...

JohnII@ it's all in the way you role!
