[BNW] [Matt] Question of the Day #2 - Tricks and "Spending" Successes

The rules are pretty clear on one point - when you, say, Autofire, the
successes you use to hit with multiple bullets _can't_ be used for Tricks.
You have to look in the Firign a Burst rules, but it does say that. Fair
enough.

But...what about other skill rolls? If a Scrapper makes a Healing Roll, can
he uses the successes _both_ to get his 1 wound per location, and extra ones
to get an additional Wound per extra success (using his Fast Healer trick?)?
Or does he have to use them for one _or_ the other?

(Which if the latter is the case, makes Fast Healer even more worthless -
see previous post.)

If you are making a Persuasion roll, can the successes you get to accomplish
something _also_ be used to buy yourself the benefits from "Make an
Impression" trick?

We get the impression that, yes, successes can be used for both. However,
this is...rather vague. Page 169, second paragraph, under Traits & Skill
Tricks, seems to imply this ("Many skills already give bonuses for extra
successes. You get those whether you know a trick or not.") However, the
"Firing a Burst" rules (page 146) imply you can _not_, since it doesn't
identify whether the exception for Burst successes is a reiteration of a
basic rule, or an exception to the rule.

All clarification appreciated. Nothing in the Accumulated Rulings.
