According to the rules, they certainly should. I'd pick out the negative 
quirks yourself, though, including Young and Impulsive. In fact, as the 
Guide, you could (and probably should) design the whole sidekick yourself. 
After all, heroes don't usually pick their sidekicks. It's usually the other 
way around. Feel free to give him/her lower stats too.
