[BNW] New Tricks + site updates...
I've just added two more matches to the DFL, as well as the
two tricks I'm going to include below, and two more conspiracies
to amaze and amuse.
Check out my site (address in .sig), and let me know what you

(Or alternatively, what you like -- but hate is so much easier

NEW TRICKS:
Blaster
Rocket!: It's been said that Blasters can really knock someone off
their
feet with those blasts. I know -- I've had it happen to me once, and I'm
still
recovering... But some Blasters have figured out a way to knock
themselves off
their feet, to fly! Well, sorta...
Y'see, most Blasters aren't very good at it. Flyers get around
pretty
naturally, and they know how to do some pretty fancy acrobatics.
Blasters,
however, can get off the ground in a pinch. They use all that Blast
power and
direct it behind them, jetting along like some kinda rocket. It ain't
fancy,
but it gets you there... And looks pretty cool to boot!
For two extra successes on a Challenging (10) Speed + Shooting Roll,
a
Blaster can take off like a rocket. They move at a Pace equal to their
normal
Pace + their Shooting skill. This is a continuous action, and counts as
the
Blasters use of the blasting powers; if the Blaster wishes to use
Blasting
while Rocketing, they will fall, and must start Rocketing again. Each
round
of Rocketing, the Blaster must make an Easy (5) or harder Speed + Flying
Roll
(note that most Blasters do not have the Flying skill!) or they hit
something
(Guide's discretion). (Note also that unlike a Flyer, there is no
inherent
armour for flying.)
Telekinetic
Mind Your Own Matter!: Telekinetics have been around forever, and
they can
do some really strange stuff! I heard a tale from a friend of mine in
Japan
that some of them are truly incredible, and can do things with their
minds that
most of us can only imagine...
Personally, I think that the guy was full of it, but he does have a
valid
point: Telekinetic can do some pretty nifty stuff -- including hovering
on
thin air!
Yep, it used to be just a party trick alongside bending spoons and
making
glasses of water tip over, but some of them are pretty good at it.
For one extra successes on a Difficult (15) Smarts + Flying Roll, a
Telekinetic can hover anywhere from one foot to ten feet off the ground.
They
must concentrate on this, or make the roll every round to keep it up.
For
another success (a total of two extra successess) they can walk
horizontally
on air, regardless of how high up they are. They can move up to their
normal
pace, but do not have to make walking motions (although many do, to show
off).
