Three times eight equals 24... that's my understanding.  He can only 
*maintain* one gadget at a time (the 1hr bit) but any others that are brought 
to him to work on take eight hours... so if he had *no* gadgets of his own to 
work on and three of his buddies brought in power suits for an overhaul he 
could mend them all in a day... if he had no sleep. 

I think the key phrase on pg 179 -- which at initial glance makes gadgets a 
bit weak -- is if the gadgeteer doesn't tinker with it at least once a day 
it's automatically useless... no slight decrease in *reliability*, but 
straight from perfect to knackered in an instant. Seems a bit harsh, doesn't 
it?

In a way, yes, as each pilot would propably have his own gadgeteer to 
maintain the suit who would put in his own touches, I guess...
