Help For Jailer
Introduction
Jailer! is a free-form social roleplaying game:
"free-form" in the sense that players are not limited to turns but may participate when they want. ("kinda" in that there is a little structure to the game that limit some actions.)
"social" in the sense that players exchange public messages. It is this social interaction through which players try to form alliances and such. . .
"roleplaying" in the sense that each player is an inmate in a very corrupt prison and trying to use their skills to survive.
The players represent inmates in a corrupt prison.
Each day, the jailer is going to execute someone. The question is "who?"
Each inmate starts the game with $1000 that they somehow smuggled in.
So, each day progresses with inmates attempting to bribe the jailer.
Not to save their own necks, but to kill someone else. You vote
with your cash.
It is the goal of the inmates to be the last surviving inmate. The jailer will select for elimination the inmate who he is paid the most (collectively) to kill.
The game is played in cycles. At each day, the inmates vote for the other inmates using their money. Inmates can "chat" publicly, or "message" privately to the other inmates. A vote consists of two parts: the target and the bid.
Once all of these players have made their selections the day ends. If there is a clear "winner", the jailer will eliminate that player, and the next day will begin. If there is a tie of any sort, the day will not end. One of the inmates will need to change their vote to break the tie. All inmates will lose their bids regardless of who the victim is.
