Re: [werewolf] hunt

Seems to easy to collude on this. The village selects two people to hunt. (Two so the wolves don't just "kill" the hunters to prevent them from gathering the info.) Maybe random selection in the beginning, "most trusted" later in the game after voting records make some people safer.) If the village can do this, they effectively get a significant chance to find a wolf every night. (Less than 25% because the hunters will often see themselves.)

Which is tough on the wolves (maybe even better than a seer), and also doesn't make the villagers lives more interesting. Any villager hunting other than a "chosen one" is putting himself at serious risk without any real benefit. Only two villagers get to do anything, and they don't even really get to make any real choice. They just send a hunt command and hope the gods are kind.

I sympathize with the idea of finding something interesting for the villagers to do. Maybe rather than a "hunt" command, we could have a "spy" command where a villager picks another villager to spy on. If that person is a wolf, they have a certain percentage chance of catching them in the act. (And maybe some percentage chance of getting caught and automatically getting killed.)

This way the villager has a conscious decision to make with individual risks and rewards. I'd keep the percentages low to prevent it from being to unbalancing, but it would give the villagers an interesting choice to make every night.

Hunting doesn't protect a villager from the wolves,
otherwise they'd all be doing it every night.

For the programmers who need details, here they are:

If a person hunts, they have a 25% chance of seeing
someone who is out at night. If the hunt is
successful, randomly choose on of the night people
(hunters and wolves) to be seen. I'll even give you
the colorful text:

Last night, while out hunting, you saw a figure moving
through the shadows that looked something
like....HARTWELL.

I think we should lynch Hartwell now, just for the fun
of it. Who's with me?
