Re: [WW] Thoughts and Help requested about mission idea
Wiggy,
You are correct in saying that the SAS were not formed by that point - that
is one thing I've changed for my game, along with their role in the early
years of the war - they have been formed to perform this sort of dirty work.
I intend for the SAS to change its role over time, especially as the extent
of the Germans dabbling with the Occult becomes apparent and the OSI comes
into being to deal with it. The SAS will then become more like it really was
in WWII.
I've not seen Medal of Honor: Underground - I've got Medal of Honor: Allied
Assault though. What was the secret level in Underground?
And yes, I've tried to base certain aspects of the first few missions on
WWII movies to give the players a little insight as to conditions,
environments etc. Although no player should ever be able to get away with
killing as many Germans as Clint Eastwood did in Where Eagles Dare ;-)
I certainly take your point re: the horror side of things, and I do intend
for the place to be populated with a few failed experiments - grossly
distorted doggies that can put the willies up the team and so on. There
won't be all that many guards at the complex so the team won't know when to
expect them either - I was intending a couple of the encounters (especially
the early ones) to be ambushes to keep the team edgy.
It's also been difficult to get a lot of suspense going in the PBEM as some
of my players are a bit on the useless side and don't reply to game posts
all that quickly - the only player who gets a lot of suspense is me waiting
to see if anyone replies :-)
Thanks for the reply!
BJ
