Re: [WW] WW mailing lists

Anyone else find Land of the Rising Dead to be pretty
weak on any real detail? I really preferred Afrika
Korpse's style to how LofRD turned out.

-->yes, and no. They tried to cover the entirety of the Pac campaign in
one book. Too much IMO. The classes are great, as are the prestige
classes, but they forgot to put in the stats for the japanese weapons
(DOH!). According to Shane, John Hoppler is working on them, and will be
posted to the PEG web site sometime in the future. Other wise, LOTRD is
a good effort, and covers the necessary PC classes, and has a nice
general over view of the PTO. Unfortunately, it is short on detail,
especially concerning Japanese paranormal experiments, as well as Asian
supernatural critters (what no Foo dogs or drgaons?!). Nor is there any
real details on OSI organization and activities in the PTO. It probably
would have been better if they had broken it down more, into individual
books for the Islands, CBI, and New Guinea/Australia. So much is just
glossed over, especially in the CBI theatre. AK was nice in that it was
only covering the NAfrica campaign, and not trying to include Italy and
DDay as well.
My campaign resumes tomorrow, finishing up a side trip to London
(Apr 1940), with the squad trying to keep Aleceister Crowley from SS
hands. Then it will be back to Norway for some fun with
Fallschrimjaegers, and a hasty evac from Narvik. then we'll see who
survives, and where they get posted to next.
