[WW] Video Sources
i was thinking about good video sources ("flavor text" as i call 'em) and
was wondering what might be out there. beyond "SAVING/RYAN" and HBO's "BAND
OF BROTHERS" i have thought of several to start the list...
THE KEEP <paramount 1983> Nazis are sent to guard an old, mysterious
fortress in a Romanian pass. Instead, they unleash death in this
supernatural thriller. BTW~this was also made into a AD&D (1st ed) adventure
back in the '80s.
THE BIG RED ONE <warner i think 1980> Grim story of a WWII squad consisting
of an anonymous sergeant and four long-time survivors who ignore the
faceless replacements who continually arrive and die. a great lee marvin
film.
THE DIRTY DOZEN <MGM 1967>Lee Marvin, need i say more? A US Army Major
(Marvin) is assigned a dozen convicted murderers to train and lead them into
a mass assassination mission of German officers in World War II. an all star
cast which includes Cleveland Browns Hall of Fame Fullback Jim Brown.
come to think of it, any WWII film with Lee Marvin is a must see.
GUNS OF NAVARONE <i don't know 1961> A British team is sent to cross
occupied Greek territory and destroy the massive German gun emplacement that
commands a key sea channel.
well, these are my picks to get the thread started. anyone else?
...the rich
"you know you shouldn't smoke. it's not good for you."
"it's ok. i only smoke after sex."
"well that's good."
" 'bout a pack a day."
--------->can you name that movie?
