While I don't think anyone has done anything wrong or intentionally 
provocative (except maybe not fully check references), I think this topic is 
similar to the slavery issue that was discussed early on over at the 
Deadlands list:

Deadlands and Weird Wars are GAMES. These lists are forums for the games. 
Discussion of issues like slavery and genocide are so far beyond the scope 
of the game and list that, even though they are tangentially related as 
background/setting information, they are not really appropriate.

I don't believe anyone has intended to be inflammatory, so maybe we can move 
on?
