I have to agree with everyone else - he got a wiff of something, or heard something that he did not like and was just doing what comes naturally. I remember when Bitty girl was just 6 months old, we had just had her spayed and went camping for the weekend. We had a Lab as well, as did the other 3 couples we went with. The Labs played hard all day, running like fools, and Bitty tried to keep up, but just wasn't as 'agile' as the labs. When night fell, the labs were out for the count. We were all sitting around the campfire, when some wolves starting howling to one another. At only 6 months old, Bitty Girl went into patrol mode. She circled our campsite, growling and huffing. She did that the entire evening - the Labs were oblivious. I don't think I would feel bad for Orso's 'paranoia.' To him, he is just being alert and extremely aware of his surroundings. And I don't think you ever have to worry about anyone trespassing onto your property without you knowing about it! Last night he had one of his scenes - it was dinner time and the wind had just started blowing, Orso eats outside. I was just ready to put his food down and he suddenly caught the smell of 'something' and he was off - head up running the yard and barking - and so it went for the next 2 - 3 hours - he never did eat and was on edge all night. I live out in the country so neighbors are not nearby and don't mind the barking - so that is not a problem. I just feel bad when he gets so paranoia and I can't get his mind off of it. So, tell me please, is this just a Pyr thing - or is he overly dramatic? Thanks all, LoLa & Orso's mom, Trudy Chat with Messenger straight from your Hotmail inbox. Check it out |
