Re: [pyrnet] Re: pyrproofing

Cass the Newf is our counter-surfer. Osa the Pyr has never once gone a' scavenging. If we put it on the floor, she knows it's hers, but we could leave anything on tables, desks, counters, etc., and she would leave it alone.

But we can't turn our backs on Cass for even a second.  Somewhere around here we have a clipped magazine ad that hasa a picture of a grizzly bear surfing kitchen counters.  I took some pictures of Cass that look just like it...

i have 5 dogs- 2 greyhounds and 2 borzoi as well as my pyr.  I also have ScatMats which have electric charges and are designed to keep the dogs out of the dining room.  All 4 hounds will never step on the mats, having done it ONCE and learned the lesson.  My pyr usually won't go in the room, HOWEVER, if there is something he feels he truly needs in there, well... One example was the berry cobbler I made and set in the dining room to cool.  My pyr has a sweet tooth and I thought it would be safe from him in there with the ScatMat.  Nope, he braved the shock and stepped on it anyway while I was out of the house, pulled the cobbler off the dining room table and ate the whole thing.  To his credit there was not a stain on him or on the carpet and the only way I knew for sure it was him was the tuft of white fur he left behind on the carpet.  He never stops amazing me!
