occasionally she still has a hard Not to worry you, but that was the starting sign of my Kuvasz, Taffy, that
ended up with Myasthenia Gravis, which is pretty rare, and probably not
something that you need to worry about.
The course of ruling things out in these situations is (1) skeletal
(x-rays), (2) muscular, and then (3) neurological. I have used Adequan in
the past with other dogs and it is a wonder drug for arthritis in dogs.
Taffy happens to have the neurological, even though she came to me after being
hit by a car (2 breaks to the pelvis, broken hip, and femur in seven pieces -
three HUGE surgeries to correct). She recovered fine over four years ago
but last summer started not being able to support her back end when loading her
in the SUV. She normally would put her front two legs up and I would pick
up the rest to "load" her for our daily trips. She would collapse after
her front legs were on the bumper of the truck and I would have to support her
entire weight and lift her into the truck.
My research has indicated that oats are FANTASTIC for the neurological
system (in animals and people). They are easily obtainable, and I purchase
rolled oats by the 50# bag and mix oatmeal in their food and also their treats
and special biscuits that I bake.
She was on a course of medications and injections after the Megeasophagus
and resulting aspiration pneumonia (two signs of Mysthenia Gravis) and is not
only treated for the Myasthenia Gravis and also Hypothryoidism.
Good luck with your girl - she would probably enjoy the oats and they are good for you, too. Regards,
