Re: [pyrnet] dog beds

We have tried a lot of them over the years, but the best seem to the the ones from Duluth Tools.  They are made of fire hose material and are really tough to chew.  The cover zips off for washing, the big ones are about $50. They are rectangular and fit the big crates.  We also have bought tough chews from Orvis but Sweetie can devour anything and has chewed through one of these.  I do not find them to be as easy to wash and get back on the filling as the regular Orvis beds.  Orvis also has a number of large beds that have a back on them so they are  like snuggling up on a couch, but they are much harder to wash and really need to go the laundramat for the  rug sized machines.  LL Bean has some demin beds which are huge and easy to wash, zippers hold up well too, but I find that the dogs like to stack two of them to get really comfortable.    Did I say my dogs were spoiled??  Or that they get dirty??

Subject: RE: [pyrnet] dog beds

Does anyone have any recommendations about dog beds for pyrs?  Eliza is almost nine, and when I picked her up after her last stay at the kennel she was so sore and stiff.  I assume that was from lying on the cement all the time, and she is much better now.

She does not lie on our tile at home, but sleeps on the couch when we are not at home (of course, that is not allowed when we are at home!).  And she does enjoy the occasional pile of dirty laundry.

I'm not sure if she (or Olympia) would make use of a dog bed, but I would appreciate any advice you might have.  Thanks.
