I defer to those with experience with elderly Pyrs to know whether cold is a discomfort to them.
Ombre is not quite 2 yet, and LOVES cold weather and snow. She will lay in the snow outside her big cozy dog house and just let the snow pile up on her.
If hubby is working in the shop, she'll go in there for the company, but there's no indication it has anything to do with discomfort outside. She likes to play in there - she learned to open the old hamper he keeps clean rags in, and she gets them out to play with them and drags them all over the place.
