Re: [pyrnet] Fencing

My 4yr old male has a wet wash cloth fetish. He is forever stealing one
from the bathroom and carrying it around with him. As a puppy this one was
by far the most destructive out of all the pyrs I've had. His conquests to
date are 2 van seats, every mini blind in the house (he learned by biting
them it would wake me to let him out) a cell phone, a sofa (yep, gutted!!),
a hole right in the middle of the brand new carpet in the living room, he
shredded a quilt on my bed, curtains (since we no longer have mini blinds),
and firewood. I am sure I have forgotten other things.. he never did touch
shoes though.. shoes are for amateurs. Now at 4yrs old.. he has pretty much
mellowed out.. not eating or destroying things unless he can see another dog
on his property from inside the house. Then he goes nuts.

On the fencing subject. Each dog is different. I've had pyrs that could
get over a 6ft. fence.. and I've had pyrs that wouldn't step over a 2ft.
garden fence. Electric fence doesn't work very well on them either.. they
learn to keep their noses away from it, and they just don't feel it through
their fur. The best thing is to know your dogs limits and go from there..
deciding which fencing would be appropriate.
