RE: [pyrnet] Hip certification procedure
We've had three Pyrs OFA'd, two while they were anesthetised and one just
being held. The first two were done under anesthesia because that was the
way the vet performed these x-rays. For our third, we went to a vet that
specialised in performing the procedure without anesthetic. (I would use
this vet again, if they weren't so hard to get an appointment with!) In
all cases, the x-rays taken were quite adequate for OFA readings. Vets do
need to be mindfull of the amount of anesthetic they give the dog -- enough
to put the dog under, not by weight of the dog.
