RE: [pyrnet] chewing!
I feel your pain!!! My Pyrenees went through that stage at about that age
and I lost 2 couch cushions and several pillows as well as (2) king size
mattress pads. The stage will pass, believe me...anyway, the only thing
that worked for me were pigs ears (Not the Barbeque kind, though-bad for the
tummy)and kong toys with treats in it to keep him entertained. I also had a
toy that I could put in the freezer, and he loved that; I think it made his
gums feel much better. Czar is now 1 1/2 years old and no longer chews
things he shouldn't. I still give him pigs ears and dental chews on a
regula basis, and he hauls wood from the wood piles on a daily basis.
Good luck and I hope this helps...

Subject: [pyrnet] chewing!
Oh boy! My 9mo Pyr, Bramble, is in full blown chewing mode. She has several
nylabones to chew, lots of sticks she removes from the wood pile, and raw
bones on the weekends. She used to have stuffed animals to love and chew on
but she now destroys them in under 10 minutes. She has started taking paper
out of the paper box to destroy and watch out for socks or other articles of
clothing on the floor! I have a sick goat we're treating and this morning
she destroyed my drenching syringe. Now we're desperately seeking a new one
(60cc syringes aren't always easy to find).
Obviously I am not meeting her chewing needs. Any suggestions before she
starts eating the house, cars, or any other non-moving objects?
