Please talk to and meet as many Pyr people and Pyrs as you can- I have found that as in all things there is a wide variety of differences and Pyrs can be more challenging than many people give them credit for. They are WONDERFUL dogs but they also on many occasions do better in homes that have owners that are experienced with strong willed working breed dogs- not always true, but they are definitely NOT the laid back golden retrievers of the world.... of course, every individual dog is a different universe unto him or herself as well :)- Ame ----- Original Message ----- From: Nancy Chadwick Sent: Wednesday, April 09, 2003 2:26 PM To: pyrnet-l@pyrnet.org Subject: Re: RE: [pyrnet] chat:Pet Fair~~an unusal happening Hi! This discussion has been very helpful to me as I am considering getting my first pyr and I have been concerned about how well it will get along with other dogs. It sounds like it depends a great deal on experience and cues from the owners. Do any of you who have pyrs who get along well with others have any advice for encouraging a puppy to grow up to be sociable, both with people and with other dogs?
