Re: [pyrnet] Feeding a picky pup

Thanks, by your growth formula, she seems to be doing fine.  The breeder had said about 10# per month for the first year..and she's nowhere near that (a total gain in 10 weeks of about 12 pounds).  When I asked the breeder about it, she said that Angel WAS on the "small side" and may just stay a "smaller" Pyr.

I was just worried that she wasn't eating enough.  My vet is a strong advocate of the "barf diet", which I am not all that fond of.  As I siaid earlier, I have just been trying to make sure that she has the proper food & nutrition for both her health and the skin problems she seems to be showing.  We picked up the Nutro Sunday and she likes it much better than the Iam's and has picked up her appatite a bit, so we'll see if it also helps with the other concerns.

Everyone has been so helpful, I can't thank you all enough.  If anyone is interested, Angel has her own little website, so you can see our beautiful girl!

Hello,
It sounds like Pyr's are, as a breed, very similar in this respect. I have
learned that Romy (our Pyr) will eat what he needs to eat to satisfy his
hunger and grow. Quite some time ago I did a poll of this group and asked
for weights of pyr pups by age and sex. The results allowed me to produce a
few equations that can be used as growth yardsticks.
