My understanding of deafness in white cats is that it occurs when the cat is
ALL white, including their being no dark pigment of the skin. Not even on
the foot pads. Unless of course, there is another reason for deafness due to
trauma or illness. However, I too never really studied this, and my info
could most certainly be flawed.
