Not only is the alpha animal in my house a female. She is a ten pound cat.
Despite being the smallest animal in the house she rules the roost with an
iron fist in a velvet glove. Bella Donna is such a little tyrant that she
doesn't even have to lick herself clean. She has her feline brothers doing
it for her. And the dogs just call her "Sir".
