Our local Pyr Club was marching in the holiday parade in Scottsdale, AZ.  A 
thirty-second intro was written by the club.  The pronunciation of Great 
Pyrenees was written on the top of the copy.  "Great Pair-O-Knees".
Yup, they still screwed it up.
We were called "Great Pyro-Knees", Great "Pook-o-Knees", "Grand Pyro-Knees" 
and the ever famous "Great Pekinese."  One guy actually said , "Heck folks, I 
can't pronouce this - but they look like white New-fer-landers"
And THESE are radio & and television announcers!!!!!  It's a wonder that we 
know what happening in the world out here at all!!
