I'm very glad to hear you found them, and everything is o.k. It can happen to 
  anyone, so don't feel bad about it. I put my 2 in the garage while I 
vacuumed one night. One of them jumped up, and hit the switch on the wall, 
and opened the door. Of course I couldn't hear it for the vacuum, and when I 
checked they were gone. I had to go searching through the woods at night to 
find them. So just like you, I learned of one more thing I could do to escape 
proof my house.   Charlie
