[pyrnet] Chat: Keeping Pyrs safe during the Holidays

OK, I want to hear from all you experienced Pyr owners about how you
decorate your homes and keep your Pyrs safe at the same time. I just
retrieved a glass candle votive from Holly's (just turned one year) mouth
that she swiped off the dining room table. Could have been a disaster
(broken glass in her mouth!) had I not come down from upstairs to
investigate. This swiping off the dining and kitchen tables is her new
"fun" that just started last week. I guess she is a little taller and
acting more like a teenager now. I learned last week that we will no longer
be using tablecloths and have stocked up on pretty placemats, but she has
been stealing these too! I have scolded her, but she looks pretty cute with
the placemat hanging out of her mouth. She has been very restless the past
few evenings. We have started walking her twice a day.
I am wondering how she will do with a 7 ft Christmas tree and all the
trimmings in our living room? Any suggestions? The rooms all are open to
each other so I cannot close off the entire room.
We use a cage when we leave the house but when we are home she just hangs
out.

Thanks to all,
Joyce and Holly
