RE: [pyrnet] Training?/Horses, dogs

Hi Pam! I, too am relatively new to the Pyr World. We got
our rescue Argus (means watchful keeper) about a year ago.
What a joy! He also chases the horses (mostly when he's on
the other side of the fence). My horses mostly ignore Gus.
When my geriatric horse, Mr Jones first met Gus, I think his
alpha status was a little threatened, because he chased him.
What a site. Gus finally learned what a horse means when he
pins his ears back. I have three horses at home (actually
2.5). I've got a geriatric grade horse, who is the kindest,
gentlest thing on four legs. I also have a reg QH, whose a
little green under saddle, but has impeccable ground
manners. My third is a stinky fat pony who my niece
nicknamed (you guessed it), Stinky. My farrier calls him
"Little Shit". He's a handful, and we love him incredibly.
I mostly ride hunters, but am looking forward to taking
dressage lessons next year. I don't enjoy jumping like I
used to. I think it has to do with AGE! (besides- my boobs
hurt after I jump)! :) (was that TMI?). That's my
background. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have a
dog like Gus. He truly is wonderful. We cant wait to bring
another rescue pyr into our lives. That's all.
