RE: [pyrnet] OH THANKYOU !!!!

Uh_Oh....Have I done something wrong in acquiring this dog?? When I
telephoned the owners inquiring of the the pups, I asked if both parents
were Pyrs. Indeed they were and I drove quite a distance to see them and the
pups. They are on a wonderful acreage and all seemed happy and healthy (but
I am not an expert, by any means) There was a NEED for these pups to have a
home.I may have spoke out of turn assuming they are "purebred", since they
have no obvious "other breed" characteristics. I am by no means paying a
"purebred price" and they will have had their vaccinations and vet checked
before leaving their home. No-one has attempted to pull the wool over my
eyes regarding this pup, and certainly if I thought there was something
wrong I would inquire immediately. These Puppies were not advertised as
bieng "purebred". I had also inquired of a lady selling Pyr pups (here in
Calgary)...for much more than I paid and none will have had their shots nor
a visit to the veterinarian before they go with their new owners. I am quite
sure I spoke to you a couple of weeks ago on the telephone, inquiring as to
whether you were expecting a new litter, and we spoke of an older male Pyr
who perhaps could have been in dire need of a home? I am NOT an expert, but
an opportunity arose for me to offer a Great Pyrenees pup a loving safe
home, that in a few months, will be spayed. Is this site ONLY for owners of
Pure bred registerd Great Pyrenees?? I don't mean for that to sound
derrogatory in ANY way, shape or form...I just needed a place I could ask
people for help and advice about this particular breed. .......which they
have done and I very much appreciate it. Sincerely...Michele Donald.

 purebred but not registered...they're pets.<<

As I am sure you already know, Michelle, in order to comply with The
Canadian Animal Pedigree Act, the purchaser of any animal represented as
"purebred" is entitled to a registration certificate.

I would be interested to know if a similar law is in force in the United
States (not that it is enforced here, unless a complaint is laid) - and in
the countries of other list members.
