RE: [pyrnet] Question
Newman about did me in last night.
- Hi Rhonda,
I would say that Newman is just pushing his weight around. I found,
with Pico, that this was the age where I had to be very consistent and firm
with him. It seems to come and go every couple months. If you tell him to do
something, make sure he does it. If it comes down to having him wear a
leash around the house (only when he is supervised) so you have a quick-grab
handle, do that. DO NOT let him get away with any behavior that he is not
supposed to do just because he is soooo cute. Been there, done that! Have
you had him neutered? If you are not going to show him, that would be a good
idea.
Don't get mad at him, just get tough. Find a good training class to
go to and sign-up. It will be worth it. I also found that walks help. You
don't want to exhaust him, because he is still young, but it will take the
edge off.
Good luck, you will survive this, I did. I can't say Pico is
perfectly behaved, we still have 'jumping up/lunging at people' issues, but
we are getting there.
