Neither your vet nor the Pet Smart trainer knows anything about Great
Pyrs--it's part of the breed standard. Occasionally they'll catch a dew
claw, but in my experience no more so than any other claw, and with no
more serious damage or complications. Follow your own instinct and leave
them alone!!
