I've got one too !! Yep  !  they "build up" Your muscles, but, they can't be beat !  The only thing that I do ~~before I vacum, I always Use a "carpet Rake  (under $15.00~~~available at most vacum stores), the carpet rake gets up a lot of the loose hair that will otherwise just "wind around" the beater bar~~(the carpet rake is also good if You just want a quick "touch-up" in the house~(if un-expected company comes to call)
