Hi Sherry - Keep the faith.  The first summer is the worst.  I felt like a 
complete failure in caring for Cody even though I had successfully been owned 
by two others.  Everything I did to care for him (grooming and feeding) up 
north failed down south.  It was so frustrating and poor Cody. I don't know 
if they adapt to the weather or we owners get smarter but this year is 
better.  When fall comes we will start our 2 mile hikes each day but in the 
mean time Cody stays upside down under a ceiling fan in the a/c house.  
Sounds like you are doing all the proper things. LOL and keep in touch.  
I bet that Cody will get a hot spot now just because I said he did not have 
any!!!!!
