I think you and your dogs would like it out west Barb. I live in Colorado
Springs and love it.  Lots of sun, even during the cold months.  No
humidity.  Few bugs due to the altitude. Just this year I had to start the
dogs on heartworm pills.  Nice mountain views and lots of trails to hike.
Blue blue skies.  Not as much snow as people think except if you live in the
mountains and it usually melts away the next day with the sun.  Spring and
summers are nice with a cooling afternoon storm.  Oh, and the smells of the
Ponderosa pines in the sun - pine with a slight vanilla scent - heavenly.
