Hi Pam, Always willing to give the flip side to a thought.  One comment
though.  If you feel that " fearing the 
dogs "is too strong of wording, that's fine.  But then I object to the
notion that other folks "don't know what their dogs are capable of",
because we don't have the same reaction to an event, or we don't see
everything a dog does, as testing our control over them.  I've had dogs
all of my life ( I'm 50 ), and I have not had problem dogs, nor do I have
kids that are a problem.  I love and respect both, but didn't raise
either as "potential problems".  Obviously everyone is going to do it
their own way, but it is "the other side" I was trying to bring out! 
This is written in only the friendliest most upbeat way!  :-)  Cindy
