Julie, I agree with you, I always try to allow for the fact that dogs are
such oral creatures ( much like infants learn through putting things in
their mouths ), and I try to allow them that sensation.  As you say, it
is a matter of teaching them to be gentle with their mouths, but not
discouraging them.  And I do love that itty bitty nibble thing dogs do!
