Re: [pyrnet] Merri/Loss of Pigmentation

The smell Emm didn't care for in Bag balm is the 8-hydroxy-quinoline

Some neat info on 8-hydroxy-quinoline found in Bag Balm.
In the Band Aid department...

Bag Balm was around the farm , but it was never used on me, so I didn't know what it was used for, but we used corn huskers lotion for dry hands. Iodine for cuts, and scratches . . . that stung like wild fire! Chapstick for dry lips, And some really gritty salve that Grandmom came up with, for feet, and I still have no idea what it was called. I think it had crushed apricot pits in it . . .lol
Yes, oxyquinoline is an antiseptic they used to scrub patiences down with it before a surgery to help prevent infection. They still may use it, who knows. . . That's what Grand said.
This has been such an informative day! All over a dry nose.
Still don't know what those flies are...are they just common flies?
Thanks everyone!
