Judith - you and me both!  From what I had read (and possibly I have read
it wrong -- need to keep those specticles handy <VBG>), I had thought that
the shepherd's crook was the bend at the tip.  Personally, I have seen pyrs
with the tail that flips over to the side, and I don't like the look.  The
one rescue we had would always run with her tail flipped to one side, and
it made her look lopsided.
