Marie, I don't think your friend should have a problem at all.
At that age the youngster should have good control, and it will just be a
matter of letting it know whats expected. Of course, having a crate will
also make things easier. Same principles apply. Let it out after
eating, playing, and sleeping at first, not because it can't hold at this
age, but to let it know where it is expected to go. Put a bell on the
door, or a bike horn, ring or honk it with a word "out", and it will pick
up on it super fast. Crate it when she thinks she will not be there to
catch an accident in the making.
The fur kid should do real well. Permission to cross post, if you wish!
