We went with real wood. It really isn't any more
expensive than these much-touted wood laminates, like
Pergo, but it can be refinished every five to fifteen
years whereas when Pergo gets scratched up, that's it.
I also like the look of real wood as opposed to the
laminates.  Be sure to shop around (online even)
because there are great deals out there.
