[pyrnet] Puppy Mill Bites the Dust!
Reported today in Phoenix, AZ, Republic Gazette newspaper...
"The owners of a "puppy mill" in Camp Verde (outside of Flagstaff, AZ) were
charged Tuesday with violating the federal Animal Welfare Act and accused of
raising dogs in unsafe and unsanitary conditions.
The US Department of Agriculture filed civil charges against Amy and Bill
Nielsen. The pair moved to Camp Verde (AZ) from Kansas earlier this year.
The Nielsens were cited over many of the same violations by the USDA while
raising hundreds of dogs for sale to pet stores in Topeka, Kansas........
.......In addition to operating without a license, the Nielsens were charged
with refusing to allow USDA officials to inspect their property; not
providing medical care for their dogs; unsafe storage of food; not protecting
the animals from the elements; and housing the animals in unsafe and unclean
structures."
No mention of the breeds of dogs being raised. Is anyone familiar with these
folks?
