Re: [pyrnet] RE:Eating Habits

Kim,

My Pyr Bonnie was the same way.  Apparently a lot of them don't seem to eat as much as we think they should.  I got so worried that I was hand feeding Bonnie and kept trying different puppy foods thinking that was the problem.  I was told simply that when she gets hungry enough, she'll eat.  Just make sure there is not a medical reason for her lack of appetite and that she doesn't go completely without for too long.

Others on the list may be able to give you more advise, but that's what I was told.  We've got several Pyr breeders on this list that are a wealth of information.  I'm sure you'll learn a lot if you stick around the list.  Congrats on your new baby.  I've had mine for almost a year now and am totally taken by her.  I want to have several Pyrs, now that I've got my first one (once my other dogs pass on, that is).

Subject: [pyrnet] RE:Eating Habits

Hi all.  I'm a new Pyr owner with a question.  Igot my first Pyr 2 months ago.  Osa is 41/2months old and we can't seem to get her excited about of all things, EATING.  Has anyone ever heard of a dog that doesn't like to eat?  The vet said she is thin but not too thin yet.  I have tried all I can think of to get her to eat more.  I know the summer weather isn't helping much either.  We live in Connecticut so it's not that hot.  Can anyone help me out?  I know a lot of you have a lot of experience with these big babies.

Thanks for any help
Kim & Osa
