[pyrnet] CHAT: Molly's 12th birthday?

Well, I was just feeding the dogs, and was going to send a post
to the list telling you all that Molly will have her 12th
birthday tomorrow. Since my kids had pizza tonight, I had decided
to do her birthday dinner a day early. (pizza crust is her
absolute favorite!) Looks like it's a good thing I moved her
birthday dinner up a day, as Molly may not make it. Seems that
her rear has completely gone out on her. Even when I lift her up
she cannot stand on her back legs. She was no worse than usual a
little while ago, and I hand fed her what may very well be her
last meal. She does not seem to be in any pain, she's just very
distressed over the fact that she can't get up and walk. If my
son gets home to help me get her in and out of the truck, I'll
take her over tonight to the Vet. If not, she will have to wait
until morning. She will be even more distressed as she is very
fastidious. But even though I can lift her 94 lbs. into the
truck, I can't carry her down the steps. I'm going to at least
try the sling to let her out to potty, but I don't know how it
will go. Perhaps we'll have a miracle and she'll make it a while
longer. Say a prayer for her, she needs all the help she can get
right now. I knew this day was approaching, but I didn't think it
would happen quite this suddenly.
