Thanks everyone for your kind words. Tessa died in my arms yesterday. It was 
one of the worst experiences of my life. However, both my vet and I agree 
that it was the responsible course of action. 

I miss her terribly. 

Leo, our Pyr, hasn't seemed to notice her absence and has showed no awareness 
of anything unusual having taken place. But he and Tessa were never close. He 
got on her nerves mostly :-) I am giving him lots of extra attention. We will 
probably add another dog to the family soon. We are considering a newf, a 
Jack Russell, a Cairn, or a Saint.
