I don't know much about using pyrs for service dogs, but I do know of an
organization that trains and places certified dogs with people who have
disabilities.  If the pyr thing falls through, maybe your friend should
try contacting Canine Companions for Independence.  The have regional
centers located in Ohio, Florida, New York, northern California, and
southern California.  I think they have a web site, also.  They may be
able to provide her with some more information.
