What with hearing about the escape artist during her season and the thief I
feel my life is very boring at the moment but good to read about all these
things that we have all been through in the past (and future!!).  I have
crates here that bear witness to escape attempts of our "tart" when she was
in season along with wire chewed from dog run door and holes in walls ( she
did all the chewing!!).  I still recall the night he was let out, she was
locked away and I was in the bath!!.  The neighbours still talk about it
over their gins.  This mad, naked (small,  but perfectly formed)  woman
dripping wet from the bath screaming obscenities at her husband while the
pair were "tied" over the water bucket.  She had eaten her way through wire
and then skulked in the bushes til he was let out for a widdle. I think they
had it planned!!  (Hey Lavina you would not have had Oscar had it not been
for the "water bowl affair!! ) .  There was never anyone else for those two,
it was a lifelong love affair.  She's gone now and I see him in his old age,
smiling in his sleep no doubt thinking of days gone by. The only way to wake
him up now is to crinkle a bag of chippies!!  Breaks your heart to think of
all that youthful vigour gone away.  He's not far from being with her again.
I didn't put my "middle names on the List for them but they were "you old
tart" and "you old fart".
