I can vouch for the fact that Mick like many men should never be left on his
own. I remember very clearly just before one club AGM when the trophies were
to be given out one Mick Chaplin and his side-kick Martin Trent, for want
of a better word - repairing one of the trophies. It had suddenly fallen
apart. The proud new holder was told repeatedly to only hold this trophy at
the bottom. It was a very large trophy. Bigger than many World Cups for
other sports. Obviously the holder did not follow these careful instructions
because the club received a letter complaining about the shoddy workmanship.
This was not the trophy with the permanent tilt after Jan sat on it - don't
ever believe all that talk about being a small person- but its twin.
Best Wishes
Ronda
