No breed is immune to cancer, I'm afraid, Julie--and numbers of us on this
list have indeed had to handle that one with our pyrs. Generally, I think
pyrs are a strong and healthy breed, perhaps because they still are so
definitely working dogs. But there are no guarantees--all we can do is
love them and treasure them....and, of course, do our homework in
selecting a breeder from whom to get a puppy so that we minimize the
probability of genetic problems.
