[PyrNet-L] Rescue: 1 year old neutered male Great Pyrenees in kill shelt
This just came to me-- anyone out there that can help this boy? I am a bit
far --
Hello Pam,
I am a Border Collie rescuer in south central Nebraska and was contacted
by a local shelter about a Great Pyrenees. This is a kill shelter and
his time is coming to an end...they use the gas chamber to euthanize.
His owner "traded" him in for a purebred Alaskan Malamute just before I
was going to get the Mal. out...I am sick about this..that they would
let someone drop off one dog and adopt another! Anyway there is nothing
I can do about that ...so now this poor Pyrenees is in the shelter. The
reason the owner said she turned him in is because he was knocking down
their cattle...not sure exactly what that means...probably just an
excuse and nothing more. The shelter people say he is very sweet and
loving. Here is there description of him and a picture...
"Cowboy," one-year-old purebred great pyrenees. He is
neutered. He is a big love, just wants to play and love you. He's a
character!
Also, I am on the board of directors as the rescue chairperson for our
local Kennel Club...the Kennel Club takes in purebred dogs for rescue.
I would love to see him with experienced Pyrenees people but if this is
not possible, there is a chance that the Kennel Club could foster him
with some help from a Great Pyrenees rescue group. Are there any
Pyrenees people in the Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas area or region?
Thanks for any help you can give. Feel free to cross post this
message. I am also sending this message to several other e-mail
addresses I have found on the rescue contact list.
