Great news!
Paddington and I have just started visiting a new nursing home, and the
social services director, who loves dogs and fell for Paddington at first
sight, told me she'd had a dog for years as a child and young adult, but
was so devastated when he died that she's never been able to bring herself
to get another. I find that so sad. Each one we've lost has totally broken
our hearts, but each new one has brought untold joy. I can't imagine not
having dogs (read pyrs) in my life, for as long as I'm able to care for
them. So blessings on you and Dexter and your life together. He'll never
replace Maggie, but will within hours (minutes?) make it unthinkable to
imagine life without him!
